THE PERFECT PEACE COLLECTION

I pray that these pieces provide a peaceful escape in our troubled world. In the chaos and tragedy, or anything that we may be experiencing in our own life or see going on in the world around us, there is peace that can be found. Peace in pain and suffering. Peace in sickness. Peace in trials and tribulations. Peace in persecution. Peace when we feel hopeless. Peace when we are afraid. Peace not only when days are good, but also when it seems like things couldn’t get any worse. Jesus’ presence is the source of this peace. “He Himself is our peace” (Ephesians 2:14), He is the “Prince of Peace” (Isaiah 9:6) who is able to “grant you peace in every circumstance” (2 Thessalonians‬ ‭3:16‬).

In John 14, Jesus comforted His disciples saying, “Peace I leave you, My peace I give you; not as the world gives, do I give you. Do not let your hearts be troubled, nor fearful” (John‬ ‭14:27‬). We too can take comfort in these words. Jesus’ peace is real, and it is present (for those who put their trust in Him). And we can trust Him because He is faithful and just, righteous, abounding in love, sovereign, all powerful, and His will is perfect. We may not understand why certain things happen, but peace can be found in knowing that God is always at work even when we can’t see it.

Therefore, “Do not be anxious about anything, but in everything by prayer and pleading with thanksgiving let your requests be made known to God. And the peace of God, which surpasses all comprehension, will guard your hearts and minds in Christ Jesus” (Philippians‬ ‭4:6-7‬).

God wants us to trust and depend on Him, and when we keep our minds stayed on Him and not on ourselves or our problems or anything else, He promises to keep us in perfect peace (Isaiah 26:3). Perfect. Peace!

May we trust in Him forever and lay down in peace, as we dwell in the loving arms of our Father in Heaven.
