OPEN WATERS COLLECTION
Iâve spent weeks observing, learning and practicing painting waves. It was one of those things that I was not that comfortable painting. Or should I say that I just didnât know how to paint the way that I pictured in my mind. They toss and turn, constantly coming in and going back out. Sometimes theyâre gentle and calming, but sometimes theyâre full of destruction. The seas are vast and spacious, open waters filled with so much beauty and wonder.
Throughout this learning season, Iâve been reminded to lean on God and not rely on my own capabilities. When he calls us do something, he will surely equip us with everything that we need to do it. He wants us to remain connected to him and rely on him not just in the big things, but also in the little. He gently pushed me along to persevere and now, Iâm releasing a whole collection (maybe one of my favorites to date). It is true that apart from him, I can do nothing.
One thing for sure is that the waves in life will come and go. But I will not be as the waves of the sea, unstable and in constant unrest, rising in hope one day and then sinking in doubt the next. My faith will stand firm in the Lord and I find rest in him. For when open waters surround me and the waters grow too deep for my feet to stand, his grace will abound much more, his hand will hold me and never let me go. With a great sea before me and no where to turn, his path will lead me through.
