NEAR COLLECTION

A mixture of landscapes and abstracts in deep, moody umber tones, inspired by Psalms 34:18 which says, “The Lord is near to the brokenhearted and saves the crushed in spirit.”

To the broken-hearted, God often seems like He is far off, but this scripture is clearly telling us that this isn’t true. God is in fact, always near to comfort the believer - He is “the God of all comfort, who comforts us in all our troubles” (2 Corinthians‬ ‭1‬:‭3‬-‭4‬). “He heals the brokenhearted and binds up their wounds” (Psalms‬ ‭147‬:‭3‬).

These pieces in the collection depict both the distance, and the closeness. The false belief that you are all alone, forgotten and unseen, and the comforting truth that you are not. You are in fact loved and cared for, held close in the arms of the Lord.
