FLOWERS OF THE FIELD COLLECTION

My hope is that this collection will act as a reminder for you, and for me to not worry. As I painted each piece in this collection, I sat deeply in my thoughts, meditating on the fact that as a believer, I should never worry about the things of this world because life is so much more. I know it’s easier said than done, we often worry about the unknown. But what we can’t control, look to the One who is in control of all things.

The worry many people have over the material things of life (such as food, drink and clothing) is due to lack of faith and a low understanding of their value before God. They don’t fully understand how much He loves and cares for them. As a child of God, one who trusts and honors Him, we are His treasured possession!

Matthew 6:25-34 gives examples and arguments against worry. God provides for and takes care of the birds and the flowers of the field, and clothes the grass of the field. How much more will He provide for His children?

There’s an invitation to know a freedom from the worry and anxiety that comes from being concerned about material things. We are to replace these undue worries with a concern for the kingdom of God. Above all else, we should be pursuing God because everything else is meaningless compared to Him. We should be concerned about doing His will and be committed to fulfilling our purpose to glorify Him.

If we put God’s kingdom first, being less concerned with our physical well-being, these things (food, drink and clothing) will be given to us (Matthew 6:33). We can rest in God’s divine provision, remembering that He is our everlasting provider, the life giver, and giver of everything we need for life - Glory to His Name!

“So do not worry about tomorrow; for tomorrow will worry about itself. Each day has enough trouble of its own.” (Matthew‬ ‭6:34 NASB‬)
